Wilfrido Vargas

A View Of Dominican Art

The Dominican Republic did not develop a national style until after independence was declared in 1865. After independence was declared All the fundamental 19th century European trends rapidly began to mix with Dominican subjects of African heritage, popular mythology, religion and folktales to create this national style.

The first large exhibition of Dominican work was in Santo Domingo, at the Salon Artistico of 1890. The exhibit was comprised of landscapes, portraits, and copies of famous European works. The first Dominican painter to emerge was Domingo Echavarría, who was also known as a printmaker and a caricaturist.

Change of pace...

Since I've been reading a lot of articles and checking out various internet sites for the Daily Sunday Dominican Post, I've fallen into the viscous cycle of repeating the same story... I certainly don't mind gathering the information that is out there to put on one site... Imagine that two years from now DominicanBlogger.com will be filled with over 100 articles about our History and they are all stories that are from other internet sites... (seems to me like I'm trying to re-create the wheel...) From this Sunday forward I'll be putting a different spin on the Posts that I'll be posting for everyone to read... Those that would like to colaborate with the post, you are more then welcome to submit your essays, articles or posts via email @ info@blogsdominicano.com

Oscars vs Premio Lo Nuestro

Have you read the comments by Chris Rock about the Oscars? "Only gays watch the Oscars,"... "I never watched the Oscars. Come on, it's a fashion show," ..."What straight black man sits there and watches the Oscars? Show me one!" Rock added: "Awards for art are f*ing idiotic"... lol... However he will be hosting them on Sunday night, Feb 27... He's a funny guy, although when he first came out I wasn't much of a big fan...

Ahora para decirle la verdad... I don't watch any of that gay shit... Why watch it if its going to be all over the news papers and magazines the following day... I'd rather read-up on it if i'm that interested... Comparing the Oscars to Los Premios Lo Nuestro... You know every spanish home had atleast one TV tuned into Univision... not me tho... everyone is very nice and very "perty" but that gay shit ain't for me either...

I used to watch MTV Music awards... Until all you saw was a lot of fashion glitz and these idiots hopping onto the stage and onto the props with no security around... Now, I must say P. Diddy had the best performance yet with all those artists and all those people jumping up and down on those damn springs...

The Committee to Protect Bloggers

"The Committee to Protect Bloggers is devoted to the protection of bloggers around the world. In a host of countries around the world bloggers are routinely imprisoned for their activities. The blogging community should not leave the responsibility for their well-being in others' hands.
The Committee has four primary spheres of activity.

CPB will serve as a clearinghouse for information on incarcerated members of our community, as well as those whose lives have been taken from them because of their enthusiasm for the free exchange of information that blogging allows.
CPB will serve as a pressure group to force unrecalcitrant governments to free imprisoned bloggers, and make restitution for tortured and murdered ones.
CPB will bring to bear the formidable communicative power of the blogosphere to keep pressure on governments to stop
CPB will act as direct agents in negotiations to free imprisoned bloggers.

We are driven by our enthusiasm for knowledge, by our affection for the possibilities of blogging, by the love we have for our fellow bloggers and by our belief in the free exchange of ideas.

We are guided by Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

First thing’s first. Please join the Committee to Protect Bloggers by sending us your name, email and blog URL.

We acknowledge the good work being done by the Committee to Protect Journalists, Reporters Without Borders and Bloggers Without Borders. There will be some overlap between our group and theirs.

However, several things set us apart and give us a distinct focus, allowing us to become a valuable addition to the global free-speech community.

We are concerned primarily, though not exclusively, with the well-being of the bloggers themselves. Press freedom is extremely valuable and will be agitated for, but our primary concern is keeping bloggers alive and free.
We are concerned for them as bloggers, even if some are also journalists or activists.
We are a group of bloggers, communicating via blogs, about other bloggers. We have some understanding of our fellows that most other groups do not. We also have immediate access to the communications power of the blogosphere.
As soon as we secure 501(c)3 status and become an official non-profit, we will use this space to solicit donations and free-will membership fees, as well as corporate memberships.

In the meantime, please send us all the information you can on bloggers who are, or have been, imprisoned or otherwise the vicitims of state-sanctioned oppression.

If there is something else you feel you would like to do for the Committee, please suggest away.

If, you are a legal type, we definitely could use help in preparing and submitting our 501(c)3 application. "

The Question...

Why am I boycotting Blogging?

I'm really not... I actually have various projects and other things that I'd like to get back to doing... Sure i can post a thing here and there, but I'd rather keep it like this for a while... I'll publish my posts on Saturdays and Sundays... It makes everything a little more subtle and less demanding on my time... Not like it ever was, but I hope that those of you that Blog everyday understand where I'm coming from...

Are You Listening?

Listen to me mumbling my thoughts in my own head with no one around but me, my fingers, the keypad and a monitor. I've said this is like my scribble pad or what others may consider a blog... now I think you can also consider it a Real Life Magazine, as much as you can consider it a place full of thoughts and bs... now onto my bs...

It's incredible how the news circulates... AOL gets its news from various sources, New York Times being one of them and the New York Times gets its news from Nasa and so on and so fourth... Seems to me like we're playing Operator and somewhere along the line it will be mis-interpreted but eventually it will also be forgotten. Take for example the news about Bush and his military record... I remember all the kaos about the missing information and the fake documents. Now no one remembers that unless they hear about it or read about it somewhere else. My point is that eventually even the best of the best will give you false information... but none-the-less that is what thier job is; to give us the right information...

Well those are some of the things that so many of us already know. Why is it so nessesary, or why is it a need for me to get it on "paper" now? I'm sure I could call someone up and share the same exact information but then they'd think I'm wierd or just consider the conversation a waiste of their time... Not like you don't know that... I'd think I'm waisting my time if someone wanted to talk to me about "The News"... I don't know why but I would. Right now, I feel like I'm talking to you but I can't hear you talking back. You can't even use sign language for me to undersand you. You could leave a comment, but thats just as good as waiting till tomorrow for me to respond to it. It certainly is a convinience for those that don't want to be bothered.

La Voz

Hay!
Como lo escubieron.
Como lo estrujaron.
Como lo llevaron.
A Crucificar.

Si vieramos bien al mundo,
Y a nuestro Pueblo hermanos.
No existiera lo rotundo.
Ni existriera la creenzia.
Cada Cabeza es un Mundo.

Todos tenemos problemas.
Que tienen su solucion.
Sin pensar en la muerte.
De eso se encarga el senor.

Es el que todo lo sabe.
Es el que todo lo vez.
No conose el egoismo.
Ni actua de mala fe.

El todo poderoso es el senor!
El todo poderoso es el senor!

Hay en el calvario, fue vuestro.
Y alli fue crucificado
La sentencia fue derodes.
Y firmada por Pilato.

El todo poderoso es el senor!
El todo poderoso es el senor!

Es el que todo todo lo sabe.
Es el que todo lo vez.
No conose el egoismo.
Ni actua de mala fe.

El todo poderoso es el senor!
El todo poderoso es el senor!

Si vieramos bien al mundo,
Y a nuestro pueblos hermanos.
No existiera lo rotundo.
Ni existriera la creenzia.
Cada cabeza es un mundo.

Oye despues que lo escubieron.
Y despues que lo empujaron,
Todito lo que le hicienron,
Fueron todo perdonado.

El todo poderoso es el senor!
El todo poderoso es el senor!

Padre nuestro que estas en el cielo.
Libranos de todo mal,
Y libranos de las manos,
Que nos quieren acabar.

Es el que todo todo lo sabe.
Es el que todo lo vez.
No conose el egoismo.
Ni actua de mala fe.

El todo poderoso es el senor!
El todo poderoso es el senor!

Hector Lavoe.

The Hector Lavoe story contains all the elements of a dramatic motion picture. There is poverty, broken home, limited education, world-wide successful singing career, drug abuse and the tragedies which started with the loss of his mother when he was a young child, and needed her most, followed by his brother's death from a drug overdose on the streets of New York.

Lavoe is one of the most interesting and complex Latin music performers; a man of basically simple values who has lived a roller coaster life of wondrous career highs and devastating personal tragic lows. Lavoe's intense need for recognition and the motivational factors that drove him are clues to the events that determined his life's path.

Lavoe's burning ambition and quest for recognition was so intense that the swore to let nothing stop him from attaining it. "I want to be known all over the world," is something he has often candidly admitted. "Identity to me, is more important than anything else. I have something to prove!

To better understand Lavoe, the artist, the man and his life, we must examine the various aspects of his background (people, things and events) during his early formative years, that influenced his life and helped mold the Hector Lavoe we know today. To do this we have to start at the very beginning.

Historia Del Perico Ripiao

Ricardo Ruben... *Mi Amnesia.

I've noticed one thing... We are all intruiged by someone elses lives and thoughts... How they live, what they do, what problems they have, how they handle sittuations, what they think, what they eat, breathe, smell, touch... etc... Reading Blogs is just like Reality TV... or watching the 10'O'Clock News... However, its not just tune into this channel at a certain time... It's more like "tune into this Blog whenever I post
and read the shit that happened to me today"...

This is my "Scribble Pad" or what others may consider a Blog... and there is a reason I write and read... If I see, read or hear something I find interesting, I write about it. I believe that when a thought crosses my head and I decide to write about it, I'm letting the world know (if they read what I write). If you want to "stir the pot", you write about some controversial topic and the whole world will let you know what they think.

My First Art Work..

I can remember my first work of art... I was in third grade and I was signed up to stay after school for the Arts Program... We worked on two projects that I can remember... The first was a Comic Strip for the High School... Imagine that, 3rd graders writing a comic strip for Seniors... haha... All I can remember was that mine was with Fido... probably the the best stick figure from back in the day... The other project I can remember having fun with was a Mask. We plastered the contours of our face and then we painted the moldings after they dried. To this day it reminds me of the masks that are used for the Dominican Carnival... However since my nose was so small when I was young, we had to add a couple of layers just to make it look like a nose... hehe... esa carita me gusta :)

Mil Hora

A Ver...

Maybe I'll think about it myself and maybe I'll post what I think...
Maybe you'll think about it too... and maybe you'll let me know what you think...

Or Maybe We Can Leave It The Way It Is...

Si te pregunto, y no me conocias..
No-no.
Como un boquete en tu pantalon,
Voz esta fria,
Como la nieve a mi rededor.
Voz esta tan balanca,
Que yo no se que hacer...

La otra noche te espere bajo la lluvia mil hora...
Como un perro.
Y cuando lluegaste me dijiste loco...
Estas mojado,
Ya no te quiero...

The History Of Valentines Day

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

Happy Valentines Day!

No Hace Poco...

"No hace poco" Speaking from personal expirience, 5 years ago, I know I didn't have to worry about crossing the GWB or the LT with out passing through my head the thought of it being the last time that I would cross it. Did You? I saw 9/11 happen. I'm not blind. I remember the Gulf War. I remember the SS Cole Bombing... What I don't remember is having US military walking the subways of NYC, Patrolling the GWB Walkway, Guarding Public Buildings before 9/11... We definately live in a Different World...

Rhode Island Trip

Well, I think it's time to visit freinds and family up in Providence this weekend. Wow, I haven't been up there since November! hmm... The drive up there from Jersey is a pain in the ass tho... I prefer driving at about 2 in the morning rather then 6 in the afternoon. Traffic on 95 heading through Conneticuit is the worst. Everyone is going home from work at about that time, and well... it's Friday afterall so traffic basically just stands still for 4 hours on some spots. Total time if you hit traffic is an average of about 4-5 hours. If you drive at speed limit, its about 3 hours. but if you drive like I do... haha... Well, I've made it in just under 2 hours... Ofcourse that hitting speeds of up to 140 mph on some spots, not getting pulled over by the cops, not stopping for gas, not having the urge of going to the little boys room, not getting hungry, and averaging about 90-100 mph... el cuco... Even I'm scared of myself right now... But its really relaxing having the highway to yourself late at night/early morning. I've actually passed cops at about 90 and they have never pulled out after me... Maybe that's because they don't want to be bothered at the moment. But thats when I really want to get home anyway. I ussually make it there in about 2.5 hours averaging 75-80 mph and thats about right since everyone is traveling at about 60-70 mph... Before I forget... Don't try to hit those speeds in a Nissan or a Honda... For that you may want to get an Acura, BMW, Infinity, Ferrari, Austin Martin...

I haven't been up there in a while but when I do go, I always go to Medeteranian on Saturday Nights and Mi Esquina after I get out... If I'm hungry during the day I'll visit one of the many Dominican Restaurants on Braod Street... There really isn't much to do up there. It's a quiet and peaceful place for the most part. There's a lot of cheap housing. The people are extremely nice (One of the reasons I always go back). It's definately not like the Tri-State Area at all. There is more of a family oriented enviroment. I think you tend to live the "country" life as opposed to the "city" life. Thank God I'm single...

Boston Market

Boston Market, my favorite place to eat... The mashed patatoes are unbelievable. They have that soft garlic, buttery taste that I have gotten down pat when I decide to make my own. The String Beans are yet another of my favorites. The Corn... I'm speachless... Cinamon Apples, my favorite dessert...

For Breakfast, I'll have a cinamon raisin bagel, toasted, cream cheese and 16 oz of Orange Juice. I'll have a snack at about 5 and finally at about 7 I'll have my Arroz, Habichuela y Carne o si no, mi Boston Market, o si no, un Plato de Pasta que no se da por nadie... made by yours truly... (maybe thats the problem...) and finally at about 10 I'll eat up on just about anything to calm my munchies... Esta baina me tiene cansado... Everyone tells me that I have a fast matabolism rate and that's why I'm not gaining the weight, and to wait until i hit 30 because thats when my matabolism rate will begin to slow down thus causing me to gain more weight...

Bueno, I'm stumped. If I work out, my muscles get ripped but there is no weight gain. Milk shakes, I can't stand them... and they can't stand me... any suggestions? what type of food to eat? What to look for?

Conoscan a Jack Veneno

Ayuden a Dgrasiaiiita...

The Longer The Post

Bueno... I must say that only a few people are soo interested that they will stay and read those long posts... The opposite goes with money... The more money you have the more friends you have... digo... the more responsibilities you have...

Death...

You've covered the subject of death very well Huascar... You've made it a personal, meaningful, non-bias post... Thank You. For Me, that subject runs deep...

We all have something in common. No matter your age, your ethnicity, your skin color, your blood type, or your religion. Death... Death to me is real. When someone close to you passes away, you loose a part of your life that was always there and you are left with that blank space. A space that with time will be easy to fill, but hard to forget. You learned to love and now you need to learn how to un-love.

My expiriences with death in the family has probrably affected who I am today. I'm not saying that because of my personal expiriences I've become who I am, but the views of how I want to live my life may or may not be the same. For example, I know for a fact that I do not want to grow old alone and resurection is for those that believe in it...

"Come Grow Old With Me, The Best Is Yet To Be"

I'm sure that growing old with someone else has not changed since my early childhood dreams of being married to a beautiful loving woman with a family of our own. However I can't say the same about how I want to live my life as I grow old.

Remembering the memories of my Grandfather, Juan Ramon Veloz, a man that lived his life in dignity, with the love of his family and everyone who knew him. haha.. I remember one summer... a hot day, blazing sun, no shade... and he was sitting in our backyard... My fathers best friend was also over visiting. We saw him and I decided to go around the house so he wouldn't see me... I take the hose... haha... and well.. you know... Up in the air goes the water and back down it comes... He looks around and sees no one... haha... Vuelvo de nuevo... and again he looks around and he says... I cracked up... he got up and was like "Mira muchacho 'el carajo!"... Meanwhile my fathers friend was watching the whole thing and he was also cracking up... He was always a happy man and the memories that he left behind will never be forgotten.

I do shed tears, but I don't cry. This subject is extremely personal and perhaps at the end of this post I'll be letting it all out... who knows... My eyes are watery just from thinking about it...

On the day of my H.S. prom, my grandmothers sister passed away. Prom day was overshadowed by a wake and a Funeral. She was like Mother Teresa to my entire family. I was faced with a decision that not too many teens are faced with. Do I go to my Prom, or do I call everything off? I decided to go... That same night, a group of us was heading down to the Jersey Shore for the weekend. We got there alright... Along with a speeding ticket and I was also met face to face with my first real life death expirience. I was not feeling right, the day was cloudy, so I decided to call it an early Saturday and head back home... I fell asleep behind the wheel. I slammed on the brakes and spun around on the Garden State Parkway 2 times before I ended up on the grass of GSP shoulder. Gracias a dios y a tia, nada me paso...

My uncle. Diagnosed with Stomach Cancer at the age of 38, passed away at the age of 42. He was one cool uncle. Every time he got a new car, he was sure to swing by and pick me up for a ride. All we talked about was my first BMW, his favorite BMW, and the trips that we were going to take together to DR. We never got around to those days that we would spend together in DR... After his first operation, they removed 80% of his stomach. Kemo therapy would make him forget who I was. He was no longer who he used to be but I never stopped visiting or loving him. I always went to the Hospital when he wasn't strong enough to go home. Mt. Fiore Hospital, rm 733... The last great moment I had with him was a tape recording that I was going to send to DR where he didicated the song, Si Algun Dia La Ves/Sergio Vargas, to his wife...

Bueno... my Grandmother. Suicide is selfish. She left a note behind too... I always went to visit her and I don't understand why those that lived closer to her wouldn't stop by just to say hello... Esa baina me molesta.

Taboo you think? I think so... but since the subject was opened for discussion I'd have say that it depends on who's listening or reading in this case, the content that it holds, how the subject was approached and hope that it allows myself to be a bit more open to those that are willing to hear me out on a more personal level...

Super Bowl 39

So there I was watching The Last Samuri instead of Super Bowl 39. I think that the interest of the Super Bowl has died drastically since 1987 when the New York Giants defeated Denver 39-20. A few other of my favorite teams were the San Francisco 49er's ('85) and the Texas Cowby's ('93). Many can argue that there have been great Super Bowls since then, but since I find it hard to sit and watch play by play, something that I have not placed a bet on or have no major interest in, I simply catch the last minutes if its a close game and get the highlights from ESPN. That said, it was definately an exciting 2nd Half. But as predicted, the team with the Highest Payroll has won again. And yet another Philadelphia team fails to bring home a championship. I'm sure "Philadelphians" must be somewhat happy. I heard comments earlier this week that if they would have won, there was sure to be a riot of some sort. I have to give it up for Philadelphia tho. They got the last touchdown to bring the game to a 3 point deficit. But it wasn't enough... BTW... Emmit Smith retired earlier this week, and the winner's of the Super Bowl will no longer say, "I'm Going To Disney World!" That may be the result of last years little mishap with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake...

Besides, with lines like this, why wouldn't you want to catch the next Tom Cruise Movie:

"Imagine someone who hates you with the ut-most intestity. Grabbing a hand full of your hair while your lying frustrated, helplessly and scrapping a dull blade with a rusty knife around your scalp with a saw like motion and let your imagination grasp if you can Mr. Grahm, of a strong quick jerk on the turf of your hair to release any clean particles with half of your nervous system. You'll have some idea of how it feels like top be scapled...
...Mr. Grahm"

lol.. eh duro... not to mention creapy! Excelent movie tho... It reminds me of the book, The Art Of War, by Sun Tzu(Guide). Most fundamental of Sun Tzu's principles is that "All warfare is based on deception." I ran into a book the other day mocking Sun Tzu's, "The Art Of War"... the title of that book was; Sun Tzu Was A Sissy (Review), by Stanley Bing. "Conquer Your Enemies, Promote Your Friends, and Wage the Real Art of War". I read in a review that it's an easy argument that the level of rage in our society is at an all-time high. Think of the recent Pistons-Pacers brawl as a peek at what bubbles just beneath our collective psyche. Think of it also as an effective CEO's mind in action, and you've taken your first step to seeing the world Bing-style. "There is tremendous power in anger," he advises. Work is war-like; only the mean advance. We must expect nastiness. We must be prepared.... I'll be reading this book sometime soon just to see what it says for myself...

In The Time Of The Butterflies

Trujillo had trampled the constitution, abolished basic human rights, and terrorized his opposition with torture, imprisonment, and death. The Mirabal sisters took up the struggle to bring down Trujillo's regime. On November 25, 1960, Patria, Minerva, Maria Teresa, and their driver, Rufino de la Cruz, were murdered on the outskirts of Puerto Plata. They lost their lives struggling to restore democracy and the rule of law to their beloved Dominican Republic. Their legacy will live forever in our hearts and the lessons they thought us cannot be forgotten. Six months after the Mirabals' death, the Trujillo regime came crumbling down when he was killed on the night of May 30, 1961

Work

I have a huge task tomorrow and I have no idea of where to start with it... Programing PLC's for Turrets, Unwinds, Rewinds, and Spice Heads is very easy and its just like playing with robots in a way... Creating sequences that prohibit certain functions while other funtions are working is the easiest way of putting it... Using Newtons Laws is a key factor in all of these funtions. 1st force, 2nd acceleration, 3rd for every action there is an equal and oposite reaction... Then there are other the simple mistakes found in the wiring and electrical schematics that need to be cleared up. But most importantly I have to make sure I don't mess anything up. If something is in the way, it may break or even blow-up... We joke about it at work, but it's pretty serious... Well thats the point of my job. I have to make sure the machine has the correct sequencing and that all functions of the machine are working. I love my job, I just can't stand these deadlines they come up with as if you'll install a previous program without tweeking and testing before the shipping date. Then again isn't every job like that... Deadlines... does it really make the world go round? Without them you'd take your sweet time on everything you set yourself to do... you've got to have some goals...

Being Politically Correct

Being politically correct and having the balls to get your point across does not always go over well... when you choose to talk about something that may or may-not offend someone, in politically correct terms, it makes you look like a "really nice person"... (hint: I'm being sarcastic/politically correct...)

Bueno enough of that gay shit... I could care less if I'm always politically correct and careful in the words that I choose... However, I'm always sub-consciencely aware of the words that I choose so that I don't offend anyone... or atleast I try... If i'm wrong about something I always appologize and I find the means to come to terms with whatever...

Clock Watchers

Clock Watchers... You don't want to be a clock watcher because then your co-workers/boss think your always watching the clock... you want to stay 10-15 minutes more then what your schedule says you should... at the end of the year that would be 250 hours of time that you can dedicate towards something else... The author commended the people that stayed 10-15 minutes late making long distance calls on company time... BTW I hate micromanagement! Asking what I'm up to every 10 minutes is not something that I need to think about... You tell me what has to get done and I'll let you know when it's done... If you ask me to give you something to do, I'd expect that you realize that you came to me asking for work... If the task is too big for you then you should let me know and I'll find the needs to accomodate you acordingly. If I'm 15 minutes late don't give any looks... If your15 minutes late, why not stay an extra 15 minutes at the end of the day... If your 15 minutes early, there seems to be a problem with you leaving 15 minutes early...

Type Pad

I thought about upgrading my Blog over to Type Pad... But considering the fact that I have to pay for more features, has made me re-evaluate the need for such a Blog... Perhaps in a few months I'll re-consider it and upgrade the Blog for more features but for the time being I think that a Free Blog is better then no Blog.

Personal Budgeting

Once again, I bring to you my beautiful spreadsheet for those that want to go on a budget... I think its very easy to use/fill out but if you have a problem or question on how to use it, I'd be more then happy to answer questions... good luck!

It is also important to know what your credit report says! Some sites claim you can get it for free, but what I found out is that the majority of the sites ask for a credit card in order to keep you as a future customer and charge you for services you don't even want. If anyone knows where i can get a "free" credit report with fico score and graphs etc... You let me know... Meanwhile, the best place for you to get that credit report along with your Fico Score and graphs is @ Equifax. They have several options of getting a copy of your credit report starting at $4. Till next time!

Whistle While You Work

I think I've become addicted to working. Thats not a good sign... as much as I love spending time with family, it's as if I grew apart from them... I was working second shift for about a year, and then I went on to have two full time jobs. Now that I have a "9-5" and after I get home,I keep working on other things! Is it just me???? I think so...lol... My father was in DR for two months and he's still lounging since he got back!

We have Smilies...

"Rule no. 1" ...scripts on one "platform"
...do not work on another "platform"

I know its long over due... The smilies used on the message/tag boards are inserted using programing codes that convert the characters into an image. However becuase of "rule no. 1" you can not simply click on the smiley you want to insert on www.Blogger.com. so... I went one step futher... as long as you type in the correct characters, your smiley will appear in my message board.
Good Luck!

"SEVERAL PEOPLE e-mailed to say that Licey, the Dominican winter league team, released Dodger catcher David Ross, and according to a Dominican players' blog, Ross was not popular with the Licey fans after going four for 29 with one home run and nine strikeouts. Paul DePodesta loves him, though..."

Teterboro, NJ.... Plane runs off the runway and onto Rt. 46!

Teterboro is the oldest operating airport in the Port District. Walter C. Teter acquired the property in 1917. During World War 1, North American Aviation operated a manufacturing plant on the site. After the war, the airport served as a base of operations for Anthony Fokker, the Dutch aircraft designer. The first flight from the present airport site was made in 1919. During World War II, the airport was operated by the Army Air Force. The Port Authority purchased it on April 1, 1949 from Fred L. Wehran, a private owner.

Teterboro is also one of the most popular private airports where celebreties fly in and out of... During the NY vs Boston Series in 04, Mariano Rivera flew in from Venezuela minutes before the game. Donald Trump also flies in and out of the city via Teterboro...

Nepal's King Dismisses Government

The King is not playing around...

KATMANDU, Nepal - King Gyanendra dismissed Nepal's government and imposed a state of emergency on Tuesday, cutting off his Himalayan nation from the rest of the world as telephone and Internet lines were severed, flights diverted and civil liberties severely curtailed.

In an announcement on state-run television, the king accused the government of failing to conduct parliamentary elections and being unable to restore peace in the country, which is beset by rebel violence.
